The Margarete von Wrangell Junior Professors Program supports a tandem of junior professor and postdoctoral researcher. Prof. Rayyes and Dr. Brenner are supported to expand Prof. Rayyes' professorship in the field of " Highly versatile, area and space mobile system for production" through Dr. Brenner's expertise in the field of mobile robotics, in addition to various training- and teaching activities. Her research work is at the intersection of AI and robotics in logistics, with a special focus on the use of mobile manipulators in dynamic environments.

After completing her doctorate in the field of mobile robotics at the University of Stuttgart, Dr. Carolin Brenner specialized in autonomous systems that can take over complex manipulation tasks in industrial and intralogistics scenarios. Her work combines mobile robotics with stationary robotics. In doing so, she complements Prof. Rayye's professorship in the development of novel machine learning methods and AI systems with a new generation of intelligent, versatile and adaptable autonomous robot systems for flexible material handling and manufacturing tasks.
