The Institut of Logistics System and Material Handling (german: IFL, short for Institut für Fordertechnik und Logistiksystme) are divided into four competence departments; Material Handling, Logistics System, Control System Technology, and Fusion. Department of Logistics System
Our research associates in department logistics system focus on finding trendsetting solution in area of modeling, controlling, and evaluation of logistics system and its process in production, in distribution as well as in transport. For instance, competent support can be obtained in order to perform simulation studies to evaluate the efficiency. Furthermore, IFL has many years of experiences in planning and expansion of both production and logistic building. Together with department of material handling we provide answer to technological questions as well as plan customized logistics concept and its implementation. Alongside this aspect, the performance potential for existing distribution can also be determined centers, which can be compared to other warehouses based on Distribution Center Reference Model (DCRM). You can also count on IFL when conducting value flow analysis, which will be carried out in one or more workshops.
Department of Warehouse and Material Handling
The department of warehouse and material handlings is working on finding technological solution to internal material handling. In this respect, developing new and innovative solutions for efficient transport (e.g. through our projects FlexFörderer or Karis) has to focus in particular on questions and issues of energy efficiency.
Department of Control System Technology
The department of control system technology deals with the issue of control and operational reliability within the framework of newly developed material handling systems. The focus here will be on the new operating strategies, which best fit modular construction of innovative conveyer technology.
